Undercliff produces hand made premium wines, in very limited quantities, using fruit from our own vineyards. The wine varieties include Semillon, Dessert Semillon; a traditional basket press Shiraz, Sparkling Shiraz, Chambourcin, Chardonnay and Fortified Muscat.

Under the guidance of their experienced winemaker, David Carrick, Undercliff Winery has won numerous awards throughout Australia for their unique wine styles. These include awards for the rich Shiraz, Sparkling Shiraz-well known with the black cockatoo label-and the fruity Semillons. As some of the older vintages are in limited quantities, Undercliff has retained these rare wines in limited release museum collection sets for the connoisseur or that special gift. The cellar door is open daily for those who wish to taste the award winning wines or sample products from the olive grove as well as browsing through the artworks in the gallery.

Wine Varieties:

Basket Press Shiraz: A range of vintages over the years has produced some outstanding wines with the complexities, flavours, elegance and giving some unique characteristics of the Wollombi Valley.

Chambourcin: Intense berry fruit aromas and flavours with a delightful black pepper spicy after taste. Great match for lightly spiced Asian dishes.

Sparkling Shiraz: A combination of 2000 vintage and aged reserve shiraz with rich berry fruit and spice characteristics produces this unique Australian style. Ready to enjoy now. Serve chilled. Especially good for hot weather.

Semillon: The new semillons have a pale green/yellow colour, lemon citrus nose with full varietal fruit flavours and a crisp balanced finish. UNWOODED. Serve with oysters, prawns, fish or chicken.

Bottle aged semillons are available and have matured with a honey, toasted complexity---these are a perfect complement to the richer seafood dishes such as crayfish, yabbies and crab.

Chardonnay: A lightly wooded wine allowing the delicate melon and tropical fruit flavours to come through with a hint of vanilla oak in the background.

Azure Dessert Semillon: A delightful dessert wine -sweet but not too sweet- with a crisp, clean Semillon finish. Also excellent with cheeses.

Muscat: A fortified after dinner wine. Currently available in 2 styles: one light muscat wine with sweet aromatic flavours. The other is fermented with a touch of honey giving a unique mead flavour.

Connoisseurs Collection: We have retained some of the older vintages of Undercliff Wines in specially packaged sets. These make ideal gifts or collectors sets for connoisseurs.
